I was playing Super Mario Bros. 2 the other day and it made me think about the Japanese game it was based on which was Doki Doki Panic. We received a special version of Super Mario Bros. 2 as the original Japanese edition was deemed too difficult for kids of America by Howard Phillips. This man had the job of screening Famicom games before choosing which ones he would recommend being released in America. Many games didn’t make the cut. This is leading me to start a Twitch channel where I will be streaming many gems Americans missed on the Famicom Disk System.

The following are various soundtracks for the series and its different iterations of gameplay.

Super Mario Bros. 2 released in America.
Super Mario Bros. 2 released in America was based on the Japanese Famicom Disk System game titled, “Doki Doki Panic”.
This is a commercial for the Japanese release of Super Mario Bros. 2 which we did not see until the Super Nintendo released a revamped version of it. Japan forms kids into warriors who do not accept failure.
Japan later released our American version of Super Mario Bros. 2 in their home country titled, “Super Mario USA”.
