Your body relies on 13 essential vitamins and numerous minerals for energy metabolism, immune function, and structural health.

These 13 essential vitamins are divided into two categories:
1. Water-Soluble Vitamins
These are not stored in the body and are flushed out in urine, meaning they require regular, daily replenishment.
    • Vitamin C: Promotes wound healing, supports the immune system, and helps absorb iron.
    • Vitamin B1 (Thiamin): Helps convert food into energy and supports nerve function.
    • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Essential for body growth and the production of red blood cells.
    • Vitamin B3 (Niacin): Assists in digestive system, skin, and nervous system function.
    • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): Necessary for making and breaking down fats, and creating red blood cells.
    • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Aids in brain development and helps the body process proteins and sugars.
    • Vitamin B7 (Biotin): Essential for the metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.
    • Vitamin B9 (Folate / Folic Acid): Crucial for DNA creation and cell division, particularly important during pregnancy.
    • Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin): Keeps nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA.

2. Fat-Soluble Vitamins
These vitamins are absorbed alongside fats in your diet and are stored in the body’s fatty tissue for future use.
  • Vitamin A: Supports healthy vision, skin, and immune function.
  • Vitamin D: Helps the body absorb calcium for healthy bones and teeth.
  • Vitamin E: An antioxidant that protects cells from damage.
  • Vitamin K: Necessary for blood clotting and building strong bones
Essential minerals are inorganic elements your body needs to develop and function optimally.
They are categorized into macrominerals (required in larger amounts, 100 mg or more daily) and trace minerals (required in smaller quantities). These minerals play large roles in bone health, fluid balance, and muscle function.
    • Calcium: Builds and maintains strong bones and teeth, and assists with muscle contraction.
    • Phosphorus: Works with calcium to build bones; found in every cell membrane and aids in energy production.
    • Potassium: An electrolyte crucial for nerve signals, muscle contractions, and maintaining fluid balance.
    • Sodium: Regulates blood pressure, fluid balance, and nerve transmissions.
    • Chloride: Works with sodium to maintain fluid balance and produces stomach acid for digestion.
    • Magnesium: Supports hundreds of enzyme reactions, regulates blood sugar and pressure, and aids nerve function.
    • Sulfur: Found in protein structures; aids in building and repairing tissues and DNA.

Trace Minerals
While needed in micro-doses (less than 100 mg daily), they are equally critical for your survival.
  • Iron: A core component of hemoglobin, allowing red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout the body.
  • Zinc: Crucial for a healthy immune system, wound healing, and DNA synthesis.
  • Copper: Helps form red blood cells, keeps the nervous system healthy, and aids iron absorption.
  • Iodine: Essential for the production of thyroid hormones, which regulate metabolism and growth.
  • Selenium: Acts as a powerful antioxidant to fight oxidative stress and supports thyroid function.
  • Manganese: Aids in bone formation, blood clotting, and the metabolism of carbohydrates and cholesterol.
  • Chromium: Enhances the action of insulin and helps maintain normal blood sugar levels.
  • Molybdenum: Helps process proteins and genetic material like DNA
