Dicyanin Dye is not a drug but it is more strictly controlled than most other known substances including all Schedule 1 drugs.
Dicyanin dye was first manufactured in the early 20th century by the German dye works of Meister, Lucius & Brüning at Höchst. It was originally developed as a blue coal-tar dye for sensitizing photographic plates rather than for textile use.
The dye became widely known in the context of auric research due to the experiments of British physician Walter John Kilner, who used it in the 1910s and 1920s to create “Kilner screens” or goggles. Kilner claimed that looking through these dicyanin-filtered glasses allowed him to see the human aura.
Yes, there are googles that allow you to identify shapeshifters just like the movie, “They Live”. Certain humans have an aura that identifies them as non-human. The dye was banned to the public in the 1940’s, but goggles still remain and the dye can be synthesized from coal tar. It is heavily restricted for research so it is still manufactured.
